Fall 2011 Letter from The Director
Destination Dance is entering its sixth year of providing superior dance training. As always we will continue to focus on each student’s growth technically and artistically. In order to maintain the high standards of the studio and proper development as a dancer, two Ballet classes per week for Beginner Intermediate and above are required. It is not necessary to meet the Ballet requirement if you plan on just taking Tap, Hip Hop, Pilates, Acro or Xtend. In order to participate in Jazz, Lyrical or Modern Dance classes the student must be enrolled in the appropriate level Ballet class which will be determined by the instructor.
After successfully establishing a dance training program, we added an important component of the dance world to our curriculum last year– Pilates. The goal is to balance the body by enhancing strengths and improving weaknesses. This will help increase flexibility, strength, coordination, and endurance. This is available even for those without any dance experience. The program sessions include all of the apparatus/equipment and mat exercises appropriate for each individual’s needs.
Although Destination Dance is not a “Competition School”. We do however recognize the importance for dancers to have exposure to professional performance experiences which we provide them.
